The Bank of Finland’s Research Unit invites applications for the Visiting Scholars Programme in the areas of interest for the Bank, especially macroeconomics, monetary policy, and financial stability.
Timing
2026 visits can take place anytime between February and December, except for July (due to holiday season). The deadline for applications is October 5, 2025.
Duration
Visits usually last one to two weeks. We expect the Visiting Scholars to stay with the Research Unit for the entire duration of their visit.
Applicants
We invite scholars from academia, central banks and other policy institutions. Candidates should hold a doctoral degree in Economics or Finance at the time of applying and be active researchers. Preference will be given to applications that have the potential to develop into research collaboration with the Bank’s researchers.
The deadline for 2026 applications is October 5, 2025.
