Call for Papers: SNB Research Conference
The International Journal of Central Banking (IJCB) is organizing its 2026 annual conference on “New Technologies and Their Implications for Monetary Policy and Financial Stability.” The conference will be hosted by the Swiss National Bank in Bern on 2–3 July 2026.
Rapid technological advances, including in artificial intelligence (AI) and corresponding automation, are reshaping economies and financial systems. These technological shifts pose novel challenges and opportunities for central banks. The 2026 IJCB Research Conference invites theoretical and empirical work on these issues, especially at the intersection of monetary policy, financial stability, and technology driven structural change. Possible topics include but are not limited to:
The conference will include 10 papers selected from those submitted in response to this call. There is no obligation that a paper submitted to the conference also be submitted to the IJCB, but papers accepted for the conference may be invited to receive an expedited review process at the journal.
Submission guidelines:
• Complete manuscripts in PDF format should be submitted using our online submission website at: http://editorialexpress.com/conference/IJCB2026
• Submitted papers must be received by 5 February 2026.
The author(s) of accepted papers will be notified by early April 2026. For academic presenters without access to their own funding, the IJCB will cover reasonable travel and hotel expenses.
