Call for Papers (pdf) “Housing markets squaring supply and demand” NBS & SUERF Conference – 17.11.2026

SUERF and the National Bank of Slovakia (NBS) are organizing a one-day conference, which will take place in person in Bratislava at the premises of the NBS on 17 November 2026. The conference aims to focus on various factors driving housing supply and demand in the short and medium- to long run and to compare various policies pursued by different countries over the years, and the implications of these policies for housing costs, and housing supply and demand. A comparative view of the impact of taxation and other governmental policies is of particular interest.

Keynote speaker: Professor John Muellbauer (Nuffield College, Oxford)

Submissions
Authors are encouraged to submit theoretical or empirical papers mainly focusing on the implications of different fiscal, monetary and macroprudential policies on housing affordability, supply and demand. Interested authors should submit full papers through the online submission form in PDF format. Authors of accepted papers will be notified by mid-September 2026.
