The Banque de France and Sveriges Riksbank are organizing the sixth annual workshop of the European System of Central Banks (ESCB) Research Group on Monetary Economics, in Paris on October 10 and 11, 2022
Workshop aims and themes
The workshop aims to foster awareness of ongoing policy-relevant studies on monetary economics and to stimulate collaboration across the ESCB. The workshop is open to ESCB researchers only. Both theoretical and empirical contributions are welcome.
Relevant topics include, but are not restricted to:
challenges for monetary policy in an inflationary environment;
monetary policy strategies and global liquidity traps;
transmission, effectiveness and side-effects of monetary policy tools;
expectation formation and monetary policy communication;
monetary policy normalisation;
inequality and central banks;
the role of agent heterogeneity in the monetary transmission mechanism;
monetary policy, banks and financial markets;
interactions among monetary, fiscal, structural and macroprudential policies;
drivers of actual and expected inflation;
monetary policy and climate change;
challenges to monetary policy making in a world of digital currencies;
All accepted papers will be assigned a discussant.
ESCB authors are invited to submit a draft paper in PDF format to email@example.com.
Please submit papers not yet accepted for publication. The submission deadline is 30 June 2022. Authors of accepted papers will be notified by end of July 2022. ESCB researchers are also welcome to express interest in participating in the workshop as discussants.
