"Bumps on the road to Basel: An anthology of views on Basel 2"
One of SUERF’s central missions is to contribute informed expertise and analysis to public policy issues of relevance to members. With this in mind, a Round Table meeting was held in September 2001 in London in conjunction with the Centre for the Study of Financial Innovation (CSFI) on the proposed Basel 2 Accord. Given the response to the meeting, and the importance of the topic, we decided to publish the papers. However, in order to give a comprehensive overview of the many issues that have been raised about Basel 2, we also invited several other distinguished analysts to contribute to an anthology of essays on the topic.
This joint SUERF/CSFI publication is produced in the hope that you will regard it as a significant contribution to the public debate on this important and contentious issue. We stress that SUERF does not have a corporate view on any issue. However, we are pleased to sponsor and publish debate.
Further details about the publication are available on the CSFI website at www.csfi.org.uk
